牛脑微血管内皮细胞系统 (bMVEC-B) 是血脑屏障的模型。 该系统旨在显着提高研究人员研究药物通过血脑屏障的主动和被动转运、研究脑内皮细胞紧密连接以及研究脑微血管内皮细胞基础生物学的能力。
bMVEC 系统由来自多个供体大脑库的冷冻保存的原代牛脑微血管内皮细胞组成。 内皮细胞表达细胞紧密连接（ZO-1 和 Claudin-1 蛋白阳性）和血脑屏障中发现的转运特征（P-糖蛋白功能）。 因此，该系统可用于早期 ADME-Tox 筛选试验，以证明测试化合物是否可能穿过血脑屏障。
